I’ve been wanting to share the Bible’s we love in our house, and there’s no better time than the present right? If you’re already thinking ahead to Christmas (anyone out there like me?) then I hope you can get some inspiration from this list for your child.
Baby’s First Bible is a great starting point. You can start reading to your baby right away, and this would make for a special part of their bedtime routine. It’s a padded board book with 12 stories. This would even be a sweet addition to a baby shower gift.
The Beginner’s Bible would be my go-to for the toddler age. It’s a hard cover Bible with over 90 stories that are an appropriate length for little ones, and cute illustrations. Early readers would like this Bible too because of the short length of stories, maybe have your older one read to your toddler!
Bible Storybook from the Bible App is a favorite in our house! I would say this would be a great Bible for a 4+ year old, but again, there is always overlap. What we love about this Bible is that there is a corresponding app you can download and it’s the cutest interactive app with the same exact illustrations they use in the physical Bible. The stories are a great length and at the end of each story there is one question that is really well done to have your kids think about the story that was just read.
The Jesus Storybook Bible is super popular. As it should be. It has a wonderful storyline that weaves through all the Bible stories. Each story is a bit longer than all the previous Bibles I’ve talked about, so I would say this is best for your elementary aged kids. But again, we start younger and read as a family too.
Lastly, the Adventure Bible for early readers. This is special because this would be your child’s first full Bible. There are lots of versions, but the one we love is NIrV which is basically the Bible at about a 3rd grade reading level. Jude has loved his, and we recently just bought Hudson his first Adventure Bible. So I would say depending on your child, age 6+ would be a good place to start. They have the hardcover, but also lots of leather versions in different colors, like this one. Also, it’s full color, so it has fun pages with extras and fun facts which is great for kids.
I hope this was helpful. I truly feel there’s nothing more special than gifting God’s Word to your child, it has been for Tim and I. Thanks for letting me share our favorites! I would really love to hear if you have a favorite too, comment and tell me please, it would be fun to know!

We really love The Jesus Storybook Bible as well. We’ve read it many many times over and just recently added another great one to our rotation. Phil Vischer’s Laugh and Learn Bible for Kids.

My kids, especially the boys, love TommyNelson’s ‘Bibleforce: Heroes of the Bible’ and ‘Bibleforce: The First Heroes Devotional!’ They also like to read on their own from ‘the Picture Bible’ published by David C Cook.
