I’m sure you’ve seen this fun delivery driver snack basket idea before. I definitely didn’t come up with it, but I think it’s such a fun and simple way to bless people that are working extra hard this holiday season. The idea is simple and you all know I’m all about simple projects. We have been putting together our own delivery driver snack basket for a few years and the boys just love it. They love shopping for the snacks, putting it all together, making the sign, and seeing the delivery workers enjoying it. Win, win, win, and win!
This basket is really simple to do.
1) Go shopping at your local grocery store.
2) Put together a snack basket with drinks, snacks, and a few treats.
3) Make a simple sign saying thank you from your family
4) Place it outside your front door!
Here’s some ideas for filling your basket to help get you started, but honestly ANYTHING will be great!
- Individual Chip Bags
- Individually wrapped Meat Sticks
- Little Jerky Bags
- Granola Bars
- Soda Assortment
- Sparkling Water
- Gatorade
- Cold Coffee Drinks
- Mini Candy Bars
- Individually wrapped candies likes Smarties
The list can go on and on, but you get the idea, the skies the limit! I also think it’s fun to include your kids in the sign making- it makes it that much more personal to see your sweet child’s handwriting saying ‘thank you’ to those workers. Our sign usually says “To all our delivery drivers, THANK YOU for your extra work this holiday season. Please take a drink and snack for your route!
So, today is the day! Head to your local grocery store and you can easily pick up everything you need to put this all together. Grab a basket while you are there, or find one at home that you can use for the next month! Or even easier, use a box at home from a recent delivery. You can cut it down if needed so they can easily see what’s available to grab. If you don’t have a covered porch, I would recommend laminating your sign for your basket, but this is not necessary.
Little things like this delivery driver snack basket are a simple way to make this Christmas season meaningful, not only for your kids, but for you. Giving back, no matter how you do it, is such a good practice for us all. It shows love, intention, and thoughtfulness. All things we want to practice all year round, but especially around Christmas!

You’re so good about instilling a heart of thankfulness & gratitude in them, it’s beautiful to witness! They’re growing into the most compassionate humans each with a beautiful, kind heart for others!! LOL
