I am so excited to share all the details of my baby shower this last weekend. My sisters and mom threw me the most beautiful modern baby shower brunch. Every detail was sweet and thoughtful and the whole party meant so much to me. Having all my closest friends celebrate this sweet baby girl was a joy. I couldn’t have asked for a better Saturday morning.
Just take a look at this decor. The theme was a mix of winter and spring with fresh greenery and dried citrus garlands. Micah made the backdrop sign with the verse from Jeremiah 1:5. That was her gift to me and I’m going to hang it above baby’s crib which will be the perfect spot. She also did hanging wood hoops wrapped with greenery and citrus behind the food table. It was a sunny day and I just loved how it looked in the window with the sun shining through. There was also a ton of beautiful flowers which I later found out doubled as a bouquet bar for all the guests to take home handmade bouquets.
I cannot even tell you how amazing the food was. I wish I could pass each of you a plate to try it all. Everything was not only beautiful, but delicious. Rachel styled all the food with fresh herbs and citrus and Caitlin made beautiful cursive food labels to go with each dish. Here’s what they made:
Raspberry Lemon Ricotta Sweet Rolls
My mom made this elevated Sweet Roll. The recipe was from Half Baked Harvest, you can find it here. They flavor was so good, and the ricotta frosting mixture was amazing. My mom swapped raspberry jam for the blueberries.
Rosemary Popovers with honey butter
The consensus from the party just might be that this was the favorite. Rachel had a bowl of Honey butter on the side and it was a must that you put a little more on top right before you ate them. It had a flaky sea salt on top of the honey butter that just melted in your mouth. Are you wanting to eat all this food yet? This recipe was from Half Baked Harvest and you can find it here.
Sausage Egg Casserole
Caitlin made both egg dishes and both had the most amazing flavors. Sometimes it’s hard to make an egg casserole look elevated, but she baked this in a beautiful dish and styled it with a group of fresh herbs on top. This recipe originated from NY Time Cooking, click here to find it.
Chocolate Cinnamon crunch knots
These were also a hit, and also from Half Baked Harvest (click here). Are you noticing a theme here? My sisters and mom know the right places to go to make the best food. These were a very beautiful pastry with how they were shaped and presented, and very good to eat too!
Caramelized Onion Frittata
This was my favorite of the 2 eggs dishes. There were caramelized onions as the base, almost like the crust of the dish. Such amazing flavor in this dish, I highly recommend you try it at home. This frittata was from The Modern Proper, click here for it.
Grapefruit Prosciutto Toast
If there was a one dish at the shower that was the most beautiful to look at, it was this one. My mom used all different fresh citrus, and topped it all with a lemon thyme honey. Oh my word it was good. It also had a ricotta spread with prosciutto. You can’t go wrong with prosciutto on toast, ever. She got this recipe from Half Baked Harvest as well, click here for it.
Citrus Burrata Salad
This salad was beautiful. Micah used Arugula as the base and it was topped with tons of fresh citrus rounds, pomegranate arils, and burrata. Have you ever tried burrata? I’m pretty sure it’s the cheese of the year, haha. It’s amazing on salad, and I would highly encourage you to try it on your next pizza too. Click here for our favorite pizza dough and try it there as well. Micah found a picture of this recipe from a friend and re-created it.
Yogurt Parfaits
Last but not least, Rachel made individual yogurt parfaits topped with fresh fruit and granola. It was the perfect size in these cute little parfait cups. This is a great way to go so everyone gets to try a few bites while getting to enjoy everything else on the table.
Strawberry Lemonade Spritzer
The girls know my love for a spritzer. My sister-in-law Marie made this drink with Strawberry Lemonade and Sprite. She added whole frozen strawberries to the inside of the pitcher to make it look even more beautiful and there was pureed strawberries in each glass to add extra flavor. You could top each glass with a blueberry skewer, and drinking out of a beautiful glass makes everything taste better right? Right!
Caitlin put together a super fun game for the shower. Do you know how hard it is to find a new and fun baby shower game when you’ve thrown or gone to about 100 showers already? She came up with this game and everyone loved it:
Guess the Gender – Baby Names
She made a list of 30 baby names, girl and boy. She then found, from 2021, the percentage of whether they were more likely used for a girl or a boy, and we all guessed what we thought. The person with the most right answers won! It was very cute, everyone loved it, and we were all surprised at a few names also!
My mom shared the most beautiful encouraging word for all of us girls (you can find it in my Instagram highlights if you to watch), I think it touched everyone in the room, there were definitely tears. My mom has a beautiful way with sharing God’s word for women and leaving us all feel inspired to be better moms and friends. Thank you Mom for blessing me with that!
Bouquet Bar
This was such a cool idea and it tripled as decor, an activity, and a favor. Win, win, win! The girls had the most beautiful flowers out for the shower- lots of greenery, fillers, and a variety of white and pink flowers. At the end of the shower, everyone got to make their own bouquets to take home. There was brown kraft paper all cut up and ready to wrap your flowers alongside a variety of velvet ribbon to tie it up with. I loved seeing what everyone put together and it was such a fun way for guests to take home a little bit of the shower.
There’s something so special about getting together with the friends and family you love the most and celebrating life. I feel honored that I got to have this amazing modern baby shower. I hope this gives you a couple fresh and fun ideas for your next event.
