These days we have such a wealth of resources to help with our daily walk with the Lord. I just love it! My first priority is definitely reading the Bible which is the most important. But I think it’s so wonderful to have a thought-provoker each day and that’s why I love having a short devotional book to read through. And by short-I mean 1 page or less. These devotionals for women have all of that.
The devotional book I’m reading right now gets me thinking outside of my normal path and that is so healthy and good for me! It keeps me thinking about the things of the Lord and keeps me hungry for more.
One tip my Mom gives is that in order to set yourself up for success, don’t concern yourself with being on the right date and keeping up. Make a check mark as you read each devotion entry. Then if you fall behind you know where you are. You can just pick back up instead of feeling behind and eventually losing heart because there’s no way you can catch back up to the actual date it is. This keeps it doable.
A list of devotionals I’ve either read or heard about as being good, is below. Click on any picture to check out the devotional. My current devo was given to me by my parents for Christmas and it’s also the one they are going through right now:

Lisa-Marie SchraufstetterThanks for that recommendation! For me and everyone else to see!

The excellent wife by Martha Peace is so so good! I first did it when I was engaged and now two years in and about to start it again. It is a wonderful wonderful book however very convicting. If you are not looking for a book that will convict you this is not the one for you! It is sold on Amazon along with a workbook that helps challenge you even more. Also great to do if you need a book for a group of women to do together! Highly highly recommend. Best devotional I’ve ever done.

Rachel SjaardaHi Rachel- I’m assuming if there was a link or some sort in your comment, that may have had it blocked as that can look like spam. Sorry if that happened!

Looking forward to trying one of these. I need something short, but intentional some days, but I always feel pressure to “stick to the day” so something not tied to the calendar year sounds much more doable for me. Thank you for the blog.
Sarah
ElizabethI can feel that same way sometimes Elizabeth, I get stuck if I miss a day, but learning to have that freedom and keep going is really been good for me!

Do you have a favorite of these? Going through a time where I find myself hyper-critical/always wanting more. I think a good devotional will go a long way! Thanks, as always, for being so uplifting.
